Shanghai has dry cleaners on almost every street, but for foreigners the hard part is rarely finding one. It is explaining a stain in Mandarin, knowing whether a price is fair, and getting your suit back before the meeting. This guide covers what dry cleaning costs in Shanghai, how same-day service works, and what to expect when you book a pickup in English.
How dry cleaning works in Shanghai
Most local shops take items over the counter and ask you to come back in three to seven days. Pickup services like ours work differently: a driver collects from your hotel, apartment or office, the items are cleaned at our workshop, and everything comes back to your door pressed and on hangers.
- Book in English. Message us, tell us where you are and when you are free.
- We collect. Drivers run Monday to Sunday, 8am to 9pm, across Puxi and Pudong.
- We clean. Every item gets stain treatment, cleaning and pressing as standard.
- We return. Shirts and suits on hangers, everything else folded and packed.
If you prefer to drop off yourself, our Shanghai shop is at No. 78 San Yuan Road, Putuo District.

Pickup and delivery fees
- Free for orders over ¥300 inside the Puxi inner ring.
- ¥38 for orders under ¥300 inside the Puxi inner ring.
- From ¥68 for farther areas, including Pudong, quoted by address.
The minimum order is ¥100. If you are close to ¥300, adding a sweater or a bed sheet often costs less than the delivery fee.
Same-day and express service
Short trip, important dinner, a shirt you need tomorrow morning: Shanghai is one of the few cities where we can turn things around the same day.
- Same-day return when we collect before 11am, within Shanghai city.
- Not available on Fridays or Chinese public holidays.
- Not available for special items such as leather, shoes, carpets, bedding or wedding dresses.
- 6-hour express is available at double the normal price.

Standard turnaround depends on the item, because some materials need longer drying or hand work:

Tips for dry cleaning in Shanghai
- Point out stains when you book. Tell us what the stain is (wine, oil, makeup) and how old it is. Fresh stains come out far more easily.
- Empty your pockets. Pens and lip balm left in pockets are the most common cause of damaged garments everywhere in the world.
- Clean before you store. Shanghai’s plum-rain season (roughly June to July) is warm and very humid. Wool coats and suits put away with sweat or food on them attract mildew and moths.
- Plan around Fridays. If you need something the same day, book Monday to Thursday or the weekend.
- Send leather and silk for a photo quote. We price these from a photo first, so there are no surprises.
