In Shanghai for Work? Skip the Hotel Laundry Bill

You land at Pudong, check in, and open the laundry list on the desk. One shirt, pressed: a price that would buy you a decent lunch. Five shirts for a week of meetings and the bill starts to look silly. Most people pay it anyway because they don’t know there’s another option.

There is. We collect from your hotel lobby, clean and press everything at our Shanghai workshop, and bring it back to reception. Same shirts, same hangers, a much smaller number on the invoice.

What a week of shirts actually costs

Our Shanghai price for a button-up shirt is ¥20, washed and pressed. Hotel laundry in the city often charges several times that per shirt, and express or same-day service usually adds a surcharge on top. Here is a typical business-trip bag with our prices:

ItemQtyOur price
Button-up shirts5¥100
Suit jacket1¥48
Trousers2¥56
Total¥204
Shanghai per-item prices in RMB, including stain treatment and pressing.

Pickup and delivery is free over ¥300 inside the Puxi inner ring, ¥38 below that, and from ¥68 for farther areas such as Pudong. If you’re staying a full week, it usually makes sense to send everything in one bag.

Same day, if you plan around 11am

In Shanghai we can return clothes the same day if we collect before 11am. A few rules apply:

  • Same-day isn’t available on Fridays or Chinese public holidays.
  • It covers normal clothes only. Leather, shoes, bedding and rugs take longer.
  • If you’re really stuck, our 6-hour express service is available at double the normal price.

A simple routine that works for most people: hand the bag to reception on the way to your morning meeting, and pick it up from the front desk when you get back.

How the hotel pickup works

  1. Book online or scan our WeChat QR and send your hotel name, room number and a pickup time.
  2. Leave the bag at reception with your name and room number on it, or meet our driver in the lobby.
  3. We count the items and confirm the price before cleaning.
  4. Everything comes back pressed, on hangers or folded, to the front desk or your door.

Most hotels in Shanghai are fine with this. If yours asks, just tell them a laundry service will collect a bag for you.

A few things worth knowing

  • Point out stains. Coffee on a cuff or oil on a tie is much easier to remove when we know about it.
  • Check your pockets. Business cards and pens survive a wash about as well as you’d expect.
  • Staying longer? Our wash, dry and fold service is priced by the kilo and is the cheapest way to handle gym clothes and T-shirts.
