Chongqing has a reputation as one of China’s “furnace” cities, and in July and August it earns it. Temperatures regularly pass 35°C and sometimes go over 40°C, the air is heavy with humidity, and the city is built on hills. Walking from Jiefangbei down to Hongyadong and back up is a workout in itself.
The result is simple: a shirt lasts until about lunchtime.
Why summer laundry is hard here
- Sweat sets into collars and underarms fast. Left for a few days, yellow marks become permanent.
- Humid air means clothes dried indoors take ages and can smell musty.
- Ironing a shirt in a hot apartment is nobody’s idea of a good evening.
A simple summer routine
Most of our Chongqing customers who work in offices settle on the same pattern: one shirt a day, one pickup a week.
- Keep a laundry bag by the door and drop each day’s shirt straight in.
- Book a weekly pickup online or through our WeChat QR, on whatever day suits you.
- We wash and press everything and return the shirts on hangers the next day.
- Hang them straight in the wardrobe. Done for the week.
Stop sweat stains before they set
- Don’t leave sweaty shirts in a closed bag for days. Let them air out on a hanger before they go in.
- Avoid putting deodorant on just before dressing. Let it dry first.
- Tell us about yellowing when you book. Underarm and collar marks get special treatment, and fresh ones come out far more easily.

Not just shirts
Gym clothes, T-shirts and bed sheets can go by the kilo in our wash, dry and fold service. Suits, dresses and linen get dry cleaned and pressed per item. We collect across Yuzhong, Jiangbei, Yubei, Nan’an and Shapingba.
Shirts are ¥30 each, washed and pressed. Pickup and delivery costs from ¥68 depending on distance, and the minimum order is ¥150, so a week of shirts plus a pair of trousers covers it. Full prices are on our Chongqing dry cleaning page.
